Presentation Title: "Effects of Spaceflight on the Nervous System"

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the various adaptations the human body undergoes to function in microgravity
  2. Define and understand Visual Impairment & Intracranial Pressure Syndrome (VIIP)
  3. Understand the various sensorimotor and vestibular changes and how they relate to Space Motion Sickness (SMS).

Bio:

Dr. Bass is originally from NY but completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA.  She worked for an IRB for several years before going to medical school at Ross University.   She will be completing her Neurology residency in June 2018 at VCU and will then start a position as a Neurohospitalist in Beckley, WV.
