VCU Division of Headache and General Neurology includes faculty and advanced practice providers with expertise in the diagnosis and management of headache and other common neurological disorders. Guided by the mission to preserve and restore health for all, the division combines exceptional clinical care, innovative research and the training of future physicians and healthcare professionals to improve the lives of patients across Virginia and beyond.

The Headache Program is staffed by physicians who are board-certified in headache medicine and have specialized training and experience in the care and management of headache-related conditions, for example migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, cluster headaches, tension headaches and other neuralgiform disorders of the head and neck, such as occipital neuralgia.

The headache team provides comprehensive evaluations with a focus on accurate diagnosis and the delivery of multimodal care, including both medical and procedural approaches. Commonly used procedures include botulinum toxin injections, nerve blocks and infusion therapies.

General neurologists in the division evaluate and manage patients with a variety of neurological problems, including cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, headache and gait disorders.
