The VCU Department of Neurology would like to welcome Jessica M. Johns, M.D., as an assistant professor in the vascular and critical care division of neurology. Dr. Johns joins us most recently from University of Virginia, where she completed her fellowship in Neurocritical Care.

Dr. Johns completed her residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center, where she had the opportunity to provide care to the urban and under-served population of Detroit. Dr. Johns looks forward to continuing her passion of servicing underrepresented minorities here at VCU to foster an environment that is both inclusive and rewarding for both patients and staff.

Dr. Johns has her M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Miami. When she is not working, Jessica enjoys baking, hiking with her dog, collecting bourbon, reading mystery and suspense novels, and crocheting.
